Visitors Explore One Of Dominical's Old Growth Trees

Dominical is the area where the Rainforest of the Escaleras Mountains meets the ocean. Due to its varying topography and its dynamic atmospheric conditions generated by the oceans that flank it, Costa Rica is home to a broad spectrum of ecosystems. Each ecosystem offers the visitor the opportunity to explore the rich flora and fauna unique to that region. The term "ecosystem" is used here to describe a community of biological organisms, the environment within which they live, and the complex interactions between the two. From its flourishing rainforests to the healthy marine environments of its offshore reefs to the arid mountains that split the country in half, Costa Rica packs a great deal of wilderness in very small space. Here is a sample of the variety plants and animals that visitors can expect to see in our village of Dominical.

Tree Sloth	Dominical's Fauna: The area surrounding Dominical, is sparsely populated. Because of this, the area is full of hundreds of different species of exotic animals including; three different types of toucans, giant green and red iguanas, all four types of native monkeys parrots of all sizes and hues, three toed sloths and various small cats such as jaguarundis and montegordos.   King Fisher
